Ammonoids are a group of extinct marine mollusc animals in the subclass Ammonoidea of the class Cephalopoda. These molluscs, commonly referred to as ammonites, are more closely related to living coleoids (i.e., octopuses, squid, and cuttlefish) than they are to shelled nautiloids such as the living Nautilus species. The earliest ammonites appear during the Devonian, and the last species vanished in the Cretaceous–Paleogene extinction event.

This is what Kurt from FL had to say about our Ammonite specimens: Beautiful Ammonite fossil arrived quickly & safely !! This piece revealed a pleasant surprise, for the opposite side has some electric vibrant pink chatoyance, or " flash ". This, coupled with the intricate " golden ratio " design on the inner or display side, make this fossil gem a keeper. A big " Thank You " goes to the seller for their excellent service.
